The Khartoum Stock Exchange signed a joint memorandum of understanding with the University of Science and Technology on Monday 2/3/2020 at the stock exchange building in Khartoum. This memorandum comes with the aim of spreading the culture of investing in stock exchange by organizing lectures and workshops and receiving university students for practical training on virtual trading systems and introducing them to the basics of investing through the stock market, which contributes to developing the skills and capabilities of university students in issues related to securities and investing in them and the advantages of listing in the market.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Ali Khaled Al-Fuyil, General Manager of the Khartoum Stock Exchange, and Professor Bakri Al-Tayeb Musa, Dean of the faculty of Administrative Sciences representing the University of Science and Technology..
The signing of the memorandum will be followed by the formation of joint working committees between the two parties, to put in place the mechanisms, disciplines and executive procedures necessary to achieve the memorandum’s objectives, and to coordinate and follow up the implementation throughout its validity period.
Dr. Ali Khaled Al-Fuwail, General Manager of the market, said that this memorandum comes within the framework of the market management’s keenness to spread investment awareness among groups of society, especially among university students, explaining the importance of students who owning the culture of stock exchange as one of the investment tools, especially for small savers and investors, in contrast to the Sudanese society’s understanding that stock exchanges was carried out only to serve the major merchants and businessmen. He stated that the theoretical aspect will be linked to the practical aspect of university students and training them on systems that simulate the trading process in the stock exchange.
The Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences at the University of Science and Technology, Professor Bakri Al-Tayeb, said that this memorandum is very important to them in the field of training and preparing students for the practical reality, adding that they will strongly support the implementation of the terms of the memorandum by holding seminars and lectures, as well as through the University’s Entrepreneurship Center.
